Donate to the Hub

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit (tax ID#: 31 1748056), your donations to the Hub are tax deductible. More importantly, they are greatly needed and appreciated.

Our expenses are extremely low relative to most non-profits, and we rely heavily on individual donations to survive.

The Hub is staffed primarily by volunteers, from the mechanics running the Bike Church to the cleaning to much of the office work. We do have a small budget for an administrative position (less than $5,000/year), our high school internship program ($6,000/year), and a staff position to run Green Ways to School ($20,000/year).

Our non-personnel expenses consist of rent ($24,000/yr), property taxes ($2,400/yr), Utilities (~$3,600), phones and internet (~$1,200/yr), insurance (~$1,400/yr), and general office expenses (~$1000/yr).

To donate to the general Hub fund, please send checks payable to “the Hub”. You can also donate to any of our projects. For the Bike Church, make checks payable to “the Bike Church”. For all other projects, please send checks to “the Hub”, with a note explaining which project you want it to go towards. Our office and all projects are located at 703 Pacific, Santa Cruz, 95060. Equipment

The Hub accepts donations of reliable, quality office equipment:

  • please call and see what we need at this time 831 425 0667.

. . . and shop equipment and bicycles:

  • functional, quality bicycles and parts (these could be simple, old, new. . . but not garbage)
  • metal drawer sets for sorting parts etc.
  • tools: metal working tools, general bike tools, etc.
